Description

Big Ball Valve is an indispensable key equipment in industrial pipeline systems, primarily providing reliable opening/closing and shut-off functions for fluid media. Compared with traditional gate valves or globe valves, large-diameter ball valves play a critical role in backbone pipeline networks in industries such as oil, natural gas, chemical, water treatment, and energy, owing to their low flow resistance, quick operation, and excellent sealing performance.

Features and Material Selection of Large Ball Valve

  • Trunnion Ball Valve Design: The ball is fixed by upper and lower stems, with the stem bearings absorbing pipeline pressure. The seats are spring-loaded to ensure tight contact with the ball under both low and high pressure, achieving bidirectional zero leakage.

  • Blowout-Proof Stem: The stem is designed with a blowout-proof feature to prevent it from being ejected under high pressure, ensuring operational safety.

  • Fire-Safe Design: Conforms to API 607/6FA standards. In the event of a fire, after the soft seals are burned away, the metal-to-metal secondary sealing still effectively isolates the medium, preventing fire spread.

For different conveyed media, strict material selection criteria are applied to the body and trim components. For example, in sour oil and gas fields containing hydrogen sulfide, we recommend anti-sulfur materials conforming to NACE MR0175 standards.
