Recently, the first batch of “CAP1000 nuclear island critical nuclear class 1, 2, and 3 globe valves (PV14)”, independently designed and manufactured by CHCV, was officially shipped to the project site.

Overcoming Challenges to Meet Deadlines, Demonstrating Teamwork and Responsibility

Facing severe challenges in the first-of-a-kind supply – tight schedules, heavy workloads, and numerous critical milestones constraining commissioning and system turnover – CHCV and the Procurement Center of Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute Co., Ltd. closely collaborated to swiftly form a dedicated joint task force. The two parties strengthened project management, coordinated resources for accelerated development, optimized process routes, and strictly enforced quality control. While ensuring absolute reliability of the nuclear-grade products, they efficiently completed production tasks, providing strong support for the smooth achievement of key project milestones.

Rigorous Parameters Validate Capability, Covering Core Safety Systems

This batch of nuclear-grade globe valves features a maximum safety classification of Class 1, with nominal diameters covering DN15~DN200, a maximum design pressure of 21.4 MPa, and a maximum design temperature of 360°C. The leakage rating meets the requirement of bidirectional Class V sealing under a differential pressure of 15.41 MPa, with some valves also subject to accident conditions and flooding environments. Furthermore, the overall envelope dimensions and center of gravity were strictly controlled in accordance with specification requirements.

The products will be applied in multiple key systems of the nuclear island, including the PXS core cooling system, CVS chemical and volume control system, SGS steam generator system, WLS liquid waste radioactive system, RNS normal residual heat removal system, RCS reactor coolant system, and PSS sampling system.

Full-Chain Independent Breakthrough, Strengthening the Foundation of Nuclear Safety

Leveraging years of technical accumulation, CHCV has achieved full-chain independent and controllable technology – from material selection and development, innovative structural design, precision machining and manufacturing, to complete unit validation testing. The products strictly comply with nuclear safety regulations and CAP1000 unit technical requirements, featuring high reliability, excellent sealing performance, and long-term safe stability. This fully demonstrates the company’s profound technical expertise in nuclear-grade valves and its systematic delivery capabilities.
